Perfect Paste

Very easy to achieve by following these general directions...

Teme-Severn paste has been designed to be very smooth and easy to make - with either water or egg.
Egg will give a slightly smoother paste and one that binds better, whereas water based paste will break down faster when in the water.

The example given here is based on an egg (medium)


Remove the bottle of liquid from the pack.

Break the egg into the mixing bowl, add approx 5-15ml of liquid from the bottle, depending on the flavour strength you require.

Mix very well with a fork.

Add approx 100g of the dry paste powder to the mix and blend with the fork. This will give a very sticky paste.

Now carefully add up to a further 50g of the powder and mix in with the fingers to a 'slightly sticky' paste is formed. Do not add to much powder to make to a firm paste yet.

Take the ball of paste and knead between hands for about 1 minute. This will ensure everything is well blended and an even distribution of colour and ingriedients.

Then put this ball of paste into a plastic bag and (preferably in a fridge) leave for about 30 mins to an hour. This allows for the flavour & colour to develop full, and the mix to take up all the liquid correctly.

Should the finished paste be slightly to stiff then simply wetting the hands with water and working the paste through them should be sufficient to kake the paste perfect.

Should the paste be to sticky then simply add a tiny amount of powder and knead it in.

You should now have perfect paste to fish with!
