Profile I started my angling
career as an 11 year old fishing the canals & ponds of
my Lancashire home where I served my fishing apprenticeship.
I naturally progressed to river fishing in the late sixties.
This has seen a fishing career of over 40 years, I have been
a professional guide for the last ten years, and count myself
lucky to be able run my very own fishery on the River Teme
where most of the tuition takes place.
I have also featured in the following angling
DVD's; Ouseing Barbel by Ray Walton, Barbel Days and Ways
Vol 3/Vol 4 by Bob Roberts and Stuart Walker. I have done
numerous talks and slide shows for various clubs, societies
& organisations throughout the country, and have been
featured in many of the top fishing magazines. I was also
invited to talk at the 10th anniversary Barbel Society Conference,
along with Matt Hayes, Ray Walton and Trefor West.
Angling highlights
Too many to mention, some notable catches include from the
River Severn a shared catch of 100 barbel in the same session,
a catch of 64 barbel in the same session (all featured in
Angling Times). I have caught 6000+ barbel from the Severn
over a 25 year period.
I have taken Teme barbel of 15lb 1oz and 14lb
6oz, 29 barbel upto 8lb in the same session and have caught
3000+ barbel from the Teme over a 15 year period. From the
Bristol Avon 48 barbel to 11lb over 2 days. From the Wye 74
barbel over three days to 11lb. Barbel of 15lb 1oz and 15lb
10oz from the Great Ouse.
