Profile I have been fishing
from the age of 8, a long time, as im an old git really. Apprenticed
at Vauxhall motors, I was lucky enough to fish with good anglers,
through an exciting period of carp fishing. I was flying around
the country, fishing very good waters, alongside anglers like
Rob Maylin. As a toolmaker I also made alot of my own tackle,
and for shops as well. For a couple of years I made all the
stainless banksticks, needle bars etc for Leslies of Luton.
I split my time between taking Sue to the river and James
with me carping, where we ended up fishing alot of nice waters,
but really enjoying Horseshoe in particular. We had some really
good catches from the there, before finding myself enjoying
stalking barbel with Sue, and I took over my fishing as well.
Angling highlights
Best fish, but not the heviest weight, was catching a carp
from Savay Lake on a dayticket. As I walked back to the carpark
my mate Rob Maylin said to me "Mark, one day you will
realise what a fish that was!". Catching carp from Harefield
Pit 3, Vauxhalls, Yateley and the fantastic Leeney carp from
Arlsey Lake.
What's the future
for your fishing Traveling
around with Sue, trying diffrent rivers. Stalking barbel in
clear waters, and now James has got the bug, im sure we will
be fishing together alot more as well. Perhaps looking at
France, and the barbel fishing over there.
