Profile I enjoy the challenge of a new venue and will be looking over the coming seasons to broaden my horizons by fishing numerous new river and stillwater venues and will no doubt be joined along the way by many friends that I have developed through my fishing. So if you see me out and about on the banks, come on over and have a chat, I’m sure I’ll no doubt have a spare cup that we can share a brew or two over.

I’ve also recently become the regional organiser for the Barbel Society for the Hampshire and Dorset region, no doubt this will bring with it some fresh challenges and I only hope that my time and effort that I put into this is worthwhile and increases the profile of the Barbel Society and all the good work that it does both locally and nationally for Barbel angling as a whole.

Outside of fishing, I enjoy watching all forms of motorsport, watch and play a little football every now and again and I’m a Portsmouth fan for my sins. I also enjoy films and concerts and have a extremely varied taste in music.

Angling highlights I’ve had some great opportunities to meet many anglers along my journey of fishing and have learnt many things along the way. One of the things that I was quick to pick up on was that if you can’t put in the time or the effort, you can’t expect to reap the reward.

I think my angling highlight came earlier this year when fishing the Hampshire Avon Parlour Pool on the Royalty. Having spent the previous day focusing on where the fish were and carefully baiting up an area, I fished it the following day and was rewarded with a catch of 5 barbel, 3 of which were double figure fish including my new PB of 13lb 4oz, beating my previous best by just a single ounce.

What's the future for your fishing I am looking to start to put a little back into fishing after it has given me so much enjoyment over the years. I regularly take out young anglers without any transportation and also try to help them to achieve their own personal goals by sharing a little of the experiences I’ve learnt along the way.

I also very much like writing about my fishing and plan on the future to try and share some of methods and ideas through the angling press by writing articles for the weekly and monthly magazines. Who knows, one day when I’m older, I may even write a book.

Some personal goals include actually going out and targeting Roach in an aim to catch my first 2lb fish, there are plenty of waters local to me that can easily produce a fish of this size, so really I have no excuse other than to get out there and try.
