Profile Started when I was 12 at the local canal after gudgeon and roach, then moved onto Himley Great Pool where Perch, Tench and the odd roach became the targets.
Then I discovered rivers at the age of 16, and used to ride to Arley with a creel on my back and a 12’ fiberglass rod (the sort that could be used for anything from gudgeon to barbel) strapped to the cross bar. Those were fun days. Learnt to drive and the Severn became a major target from Bridgenorth to Stourport.

Got the big fish bug in the late 90’s & that lasted until 2000, when everything changed. Now I just enjoy getting on the riverbank, preferably far away from crowds. Seeing me on the riverbank in December would mean I’m not in the UK…

Angling highlights Just being there, relaxing and enjoying myself. My first double figure barbel will live in my memory forever.

What's the future for your fishing Some time ago I learn’t that actually being there was just as important to me as catching ‘big’ fish. If friends are present then so much the better. I’ll not turn down the chance to put a big one on the bank, but it’s no longer the most important part of going.
